Thomson Eight and Its Nearest Stations

Five MRT stations sit within roughly 1.3 km of Thomson Eight in a straight line from 8 Thomson Lane. They serve three lines: the North-South Line at Toa Payoh, Novena and Braddell; the Thomson-East Coast Line, which stops at Mount Pleasant and Caldecott; and the Circle Line at Caldecott.

Journeys on foot follow the streets and run a little longer than the straight-line figures.

Thomson Eight and Mount Pleasant Station

Mount Pleasant is the closest station. The Ministry of Transport has tied its opening to the arrival of residents in the new Mount Pleasant estate around it, so that the station opens with the community it serves.

That community is HDB’s new Mount Pleasant estate of about 6,000 flats on the former Police Academy site, announced in September 2025. Once it opens, a line running through Orchard and the city out to the east coast will be roughly 0.7 km from Thomson Eight as the crow flies.

Toa Payoh, Caldecott and Novena From Thomson Eight

For everyday travel, Toa Payoh station sits within the town centre beside the bus interchange. Caldecott offers both the Thomson-East Coast Line and the Circle Line, and Novena serves the hospitals and malls one stop south of Toa Payoh.

Roads Around Thomson Eight

Thomson Road runs past the lane and the Pan-Island Expressway crosses the south of the area. LTA is building the North-South Corridor as a further north-south route; its tunnel stretch is due to open in stages starting in 2031. Entrances and footpaths for Thomson Eight will be shown on the site plan, shared with registered buyers upon release.
